1600T vs 280x vs 290 - Page 2

Don't worry. That PSU, as well as the guy with the HX650, is just fine.

It'll handle it with ease.

The HX650 for example has a 7 year warranty, 100000 hours of operating time and 624w on the 12v rail. That is plenty to run a 290(x).

TBH, I would feel a good decent 650w nowadays can run any type of single GPU setup regardless. I wouldn't really worry about grabbing a better PSU, a TX650 should be enough. As for the GPU, the R9 290 is a no brainer. The performance increase is quite substantial, however I would recommend to buy an aftermarket cooler, maybe the arctic accelero or smthg like that to get the most out of it.

Ouch, 3-4 years? Maybe even 5, but I personally use it for 2 years, before that it wasn't used much.

also HX 650 will limit your oc on your cpu/gpu
Well, for my cpu oc it will be fine I guess, and not planning to overclock gpu yet, first I will have to change mobo/cpu/psu and then gpu oc will be acceptable biggrin.gif

Thanks thumb.gif

So I guess I will just pick the 290 instead of 280x.
Anyone knows where can I find size of sapphire 290? Because length of the card must be max. 30 cm biggrin.gif
