Is there a problem with my sound card?

TLDR:
I'm using an ASUS Xonar DX and have a sporadic buzz/hum emanating from the left channel of my 2.0 computer speaker system.

Longer version:
I bought an ASUS Xonar DX a year or so ago. It's worked fine and I love it except for a stupidly annoying buzz coming from the left channel of my speakers that I first noticed a few months back. I chalked it up to my $20 2.1 speakers for a long time and ignored it. I recently bought a pair of M-Audio AV 40s, though, and the buzzing has persisted.
  • It only appears in the left speaker.
  • It appears sporadically... sometimes for a few second, other times for longer. Often a day or more between occurrences.
  • Happens both when actively using the speakers and when using my Logitech G930 headphones (USB adapter) for the audio output. (buzz is in the speaker, not headphones)
  • Mainly associated with World of Tanks, but can't definitively link it to that application because it's what I spend ~80% of my time on this computer doing

Can anybody give me any guidance? I'm operating under the assumption that I didn't replace one faulty set of speakers with another, so that really only leaves a couple of possibilities. Is there a way to diagnose if my soundcard is causing this? I'll replace it if I need to, but would rather avoid it unless necessary.
