Pre-Built Water Cooler

Thread Starter
Hey guys,

Looking to buy a per-built water cooler. I currently have something similar to h50 with one fan on each side (pull/push) and the temps are pretty good but it can get loud so was thinking of upgrading to something with a dual rad, any recommendations ? My budget is around £90 which is near a h100i.

The reason I don't go for a custom water cooler as I cant afford it. I love performance and having a nice temp and it doesnt have to be silent, just a good water cooler that not too loud... I know its my fans making so much noise but if it had a lower temp the less work the fans need to do. Got 2 new really good fans but want to put it on the new watercooler smile.gif

Also can anyone recommend a good fan controller ? Thank you

well the coisair 100i is fairly quiet so that could be hard.

swifttech makes some good 240mm AIO coolers, you can add to them too. I think they're more expensive than the h100i though.

the cheapest 240mm atm seems to be the cooler master seidon. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rls24m24pkr1 it;s known to get a bit loud under really heavy load though. Another option is the h80i which is 120mm but is double thick. http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-cpu-cooler-h80i It;s got constant speed fans though so you will want to do something about that.

both of these are cheaper than the corsair, so you may be able to do one of these and replace the fans for noise.

Here's the 100i in use..... I strongly advise that you listen to it before buying

http://martinsliquidlab.org/2013/03/12/swiftech-h220-vs-corsair-h100i-noise-testing/

At 50% load (1:00 minute), it hits a point that I find annoying ... at 2:00 minutes (80% CPU load). it's louder than the new AMD GFX cards.

The Swiftech model video is on the same page and much quieter.

what makes the cooler quiet or noisy is the combo of the pump and the fans. The pump you have to pick by cooler, but you can change out fans later if you need to.

it can. Often barely any, but it varies both by model and individual cooler. If you get a loud pump you can try to rma. Swifttech makes quite good pumps though so you should be fine.
