ok... somethings seriously screwy here mate. my 6600 runs at 1.45 Vcore and idles at 28C on water. that's at 3.6Ghz and at 1.55 Vcore, and at 3.8Ghz i get 33 idle. you're way to hot. reseat your heatsink IMMEDIATELY before you fry your chip mate.

make sure it's nice and tight. and do NOT exceed 60C in TAT your chip should be around 40 idle right now. with proper airflow and a decent cooler

Definately something up with your HSF. I'm running my E6600 at 3.6 @1.5v on air and max out at ~56 load.

might want to consider a Zalman 9700 or the Tuniq Tower

the 9500's are a little smallish for a CDC chip, they work great for P4's tho

I'm at 3.4 GHz, 1.365 vcore setting in bios, idling at 33*C, with a Zalman 9700. Your temps are unnerving. Check the seating of your cooler.

You probably have to much AS5 on it. Only put a grain size on it.
