will the amount as5 matter that much, i don't think i put much on.... will 60c under load hurt my cpu in the long term....i plan on keeping the cpu 1 year or till quadcore becomes more affordable

Where did you find this information out from? I would like to know, because Intel says 61.4C for Allendale cores I always thought.

I had the same problem, had temps of over 85c! I used the white thermal gunk that came with the Ninja, load of crap, and when I found my AS5 I reseated the HS and now temps are at 36c Idle whilst running a 3.05gHz ona 1.22 Vcore.

Oh and TAT is the best thing for viewing temps.

That is indeed the listed maximum from Intel for a non-overclocked Allendale. Many people, myself included, recommend a lower operating temperature if your CPU is overclocked.

Yeah ok, however people might only OC a few hundred Mhz whereas some people might go upto 1.5Ghz. You cant say 55C for both varitions or can you?
