take this, but apply the logic "i can bend a living thing to my own, personal will" to it.

To quote the article: "involuntarily moved his right index finger"
Of course there's nothing wrong with the research in the article, it's actually really incredible, crazy stuff.
But when you start applying the wrong reasons to it, it becomes a bit more serious. I'm just saying this cockroach stuff might be the right stuff (learning, research, advances in neuroscience) for the wrong reason (fun for kids, fun manipulating things). smile.gif

No, but the roach arena thing that was posted a few pages back would be epic.....or extremely boring......

I think it depends on your morals and values in life honestly. some people see this and are discusted, others(like myself) might think its cool as hell, and then you have the crazy people who will try to do questionable things.

And if you watch the media then your already being brainwashed and manipulated, so i really dont see a diffrence in this and watching the news.....

1: U stated that there are messed up comments in here.
2: stated u dont care about roaches
3: you claim that enjoying the "torture" of other living creatures is a hallmark of sociopathy.
4: you claim that marketing this to children is a poor idea.
5: you stated that no one is arguing whether or not the roach has feelings.

I said that "torturing" other living creatures has nothing to do with sociopathy or any other mental disorder, i stated that marketing this towards children would not be a bad idea, i stated that roaches could not be tortured nor do they have feelings or care whether or not they're being controlled.

I addressed your point entirely, unless you didn't include it or meant something else other than what you typed.

Feel free to dumb it down.

Lets refer to your original post.

Who here sees any logic behind this. What you have essentially stated is that, by being "bigger and stronger" (you forgot the most important part, intellectuality, which is ironic) you can essentially go around and do whatever you please to any life form, since its all "fair game", because the life form doesn't have "culture" and doesn't create "artwork" (completely subjective on what culture and artwork actually mean, but you wouldn't get that).
This is the part where "intellectuality" comes in, being able to premeditate your actions and how those actions impact your surroundings. But since you're on that whole "bigger and stronger" part, the whole ability to premeditate and intellectuality doesn't apply to you.

It's also unfortunate that you "highly doubt that", yet there are many that see flaws with this "app", so maybe by not seeing "anything", you should question yourself better

I regret posting this news article. So much snotty attitude and juvenile flaming going on in here which has nothing to do with the technology in the article. Calling in a mod-strike.
