4770K @ 4.0 average temps

Thread Starter
Running two 655 PWM w/ EK D5 X-tops in series with a 480(push), 420(push/pull), and 240(push).
Using Corsair fans with the 7v step down resistor, no fan controller or anything.
Mayhems Pastel.
And two 780 HC classified.
Single loop.

I set the CPU temp target to 60*C in BIOS.
So the pumps are going full bore(close to 5,000 rpm) at 60 degrees.

I have the CPU at 4.0 currently, and before I go further I just wanted to get a feel for how these CPUS run.

Running Prime95 for an hour plus, temperatures average about 65*c across all cores.

I was really hoping to get to 4.5+and keep it below 70*.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Has the CPU been delidded? That will play the biggest factor on your CPU temperatures.

Not yet, but I just ordered some Coollab Pro and Ultra.

Not sure which I am going to use, so I bought both.

I have training this Saturday, so delid will happen either Sunday or next weekend.

What is better pro or ultra? I have heard pro is better for this particular application.
