pretty self explanatory looking to ditch crossfire for better game compatibility, myself i'm kind of drawn into a regular 780 right now ncix currently has the windforce with batman:AO, splinter cell, and black flag for $499 or a 780 lighting same deal for $580ish.
I'm interested in the 290/X but I'll need to find an alternative cooling solution immediately I can't really put up with fan noise well, these twinfrozr's when running high get under my skin, on top of that I haven't really seen any good deal's on these cards (game bundles) and canadian prices aren't really helping the situation.

Either way discuss away, feel free to post benchmark links, so on I've been comparing them all and everything seems to go back and fourth 780 TI takes the lead in most but it's difficult justifying it's near $150 premium on the 290x and $200 premium on the 780 and 290 even with it's game bundles.

Any of those cards would run 2560x1440 fine. My FirePro has no problem with it. I'd go with the 290x, personally. Mainly because I'm just an ATi fan.

If your planning to buy an aftermarket cooler, I would recommend the R9 290x. That thing is seriously gimped with its reference cooler, but with something that can keep it cool, it has the ability to match 780 ti performance.

That link is for the R9 290, but it can deff be applied to the R9 290x as well.

For P/P, get a 290 aftermarket. Wait a couple weeks maybe.
