Looking for a Laptop

Thread Starter
I'm looking for a nice laptop that doesn't cost more than $900. It'll be primarily used typing docs and stuff. I won't be playing anything beyond Minecraft most likely. It should have the following:

- Under four pounds
- Decent battery life (8 hours would be nice)
- Large screen (at least 13 inches)

I don't have a specific resolution in mind. That isn't much of a concern, but it should be something 640 x 400 lol. Any suggestions?

might work

id just recommend that you may want to lower the run time or up the weight a little. not sure how well some ultrabooks would do if you you decide to run a dvd or youtube.

Check out the MSI S20 0M-048US. Great laptop/tablet with an i5 processor and touch screen option.

Lately Ivy Bridge ultrabooks have been sold for around $600 or less on ebay and woot.com.
However, Haswell has substantially better overall battery life compared to Ivy Bridge. I don't think there are too many IB ultrabooks that can hit 8 hours on battery without dropping display brightness, turning off Wi-Fi, etc.

You might want to consider the Lenovo IdeaPad U330 touch. It meets your budget, but it makes some sacrifices to get there (1366x768 TN panel and no keyboard backlighting)
