Making custom PSU cables, can I use solid core 18g ?

I ask this because I want to use solid core and wanted to ask if its safe ?

Seems like all the wires I have seen are stranded core, but I want it to be stiff, and hold the shape I bend it to.

Trying to do a case mod where all the PSU wires are solid wire bent to exact path on the case.

What PSU are you waking about?

Seasonic x750

its modular, so I want to make custom cables that ride the exact contour of the case, which means 90 degree angles.

Solid core is great for DC power, stranded is only used to give you flex in the cables. A 24 pin mobo made out of 18 gauge solid core, it going to be incredibly hard to route though your average case. Also most 18 gauge solid wire is for building wiring, so the insulation is made to be bent a few times. After man bends it starts to flake and come apart. It also doesn't look as good as high grade stranded wire.

Sleeving the cables in a high grade sleeve is a much better options. MDPC-X sleeving makes the cables very stiff, but no where near solid core.

Also I don;t think you can use a molex pin crimp on solid core wire. So you would have to maybe solder the pins on to the wires.

Thanks

Its is for a small mitx case build, so very little space. Idea was to measure each individual wire from point A to point B, hugging the case wall. so this way every wire will be of different length depending on its position in the 24 pin. They will ride on a wire track printed to hold the wires. I wont be sleeving but using a white and black color set. I figure each wire at least for the 24pin will have 4 90 degree bends from PSU to MB.
