I went with the CM 212 evo (and yes it will fit in the Arc Mini R2) as your cooler because you mentioned you were going to water cool the rigg and dumping alot of money into a hi-end air cooler when your going to pull it anyway seemed like a waste of money to me.
Yeah, Ive been starting to look at the Fractal cases.........the Define R4 and mini and the Fractal Arc Midi and Mini R2.
I just wish I could get em in front of me to compare quality and visualize the size and limitations to the Obsidian cases from Corsair etc. I want a case as small as possible, but it needs to be able to house a high performance water cooled setup and be sturdy and built stout. The most Ill ever have for accessories is a 5.25" BD drive, a pair of SSD's and a large capacity hd. Would like to have some type of eye candy too like a bay mounted reservoir, display etc....but obviously that's not 100% necessary.
What I don't want to run into is buying a couple of radiators etc and finding out it wont fit, or hits the mother board or one of the drive bays, or a component on the mother board.......that would be really frustrating. Trying to strike a balance is hard from pics and online specs many times.
BTW, Im not going to dump any money into the rig's stock air cooling. Basically keeping everything stock until its been bench tested, and all is running well. Once Its all installed, then I will be upgrading to a custom water cooled setup. But I just want to make sure the case is so cramped that putting in 2 or more radiators is going to be a brutal task and require extensive mods. Id prefer a nice clean bolt in assembly.Edited by ZippyPinhead - 11/11/13 at 2:42pm
