Worth the $$$$$???

Hey guys,

In my rig (see signature) i have two gtx 590's running in quad sli. Have they become outdated enough where there is a significant gain to be had from a single gpu card such as the new 780ti? my 590s run bad ass but im thinking about doing a system upgrade and going full blown water and i don't want to spend a bunch of money on a system that cant hang. i cant find any comparisons with quad 590s and a single 780ti. Let me know whats up! thanks.thumb.gif

The 590 are strong as hell, you would probably might have more performance then a 780ti.

Thanks for the reply, thats what i wanted to hear! I haven't been staying up to date with the new hardware for gamers (mostly workstation cards in stuff i build) and i wanted to know where i stand, im sure a newer sli setup would crush mine, but i was curious about single card. Im building a WILD engineering rig right now for my buddy (company sponsored!) and it has me back "in it". I want to so an update of my system but im not sure ill change many major hardware components at this point in time, maybe just a new case, go water and clean up the wiring!

I've got two 570s, which are only marginally better than a single 590 - and they still do very well with almost every game out there (near max settings). There's absolutely no need to upgrade, unless you really need more VRAM.

the 780ti is topping the 690 in some areas and damn close in the rest... that being said you have two 590's you're ok as long as you're not gaming at a high resolution... also if you're going to spend the money to scuba dive might as well get newer gear. just my 2cents.gif though

Not enough to drop $100.

Single card is better then SLI any day. If you have the money then hell yes! The 780ti also has great overclock potential.

Thanks for all the reply's. thumb.gif

i guess i didnt realize how hard it would be to find waterblocks for a pair of 590's lol. might influence my decision some.

Nevermind... looks like DD still sells them smile.gif

In all honesty, i dont game at all anymore, and only use the computer to run all the tvs in the house. And dont NEED more. BUT, i might like the high res version of that new grand theft auto game.... i could lose some sleep over that, lol. I wish life would get out of the way more so i could game more like i used to, hahaha.biggrin.gif
