what temps should i expect from a 4770k watercooled ( Swiftech h320 )

So i'm trying to choose from X79 4820k and a 4770k ... and i'm freaking out with 4770k temps i read from different users, all over the place.

My questions is, what temps should i expect from a stock 4770k and overclocked 4770k ( let's say 4.5 at 1.3v ) ?

I mean... i must admit that i'm having hard times believing in such high temps but i need your input.

Thanks,
Pedro

Well based on personal experience with my non delided 3770k 4.5 @ 1.3v with an H220 I would say above 85c. After I delidded my 3770k I was able to get 4.8GHz @1.42v with max temps around 75c.

That's one hot chip ... i really don't like going "old" tech as an upgrade ( i had a X58 for 3 years and i loved it ... but X79 doesn't have the same beauty i don't know why ) ... but those temperatures are making me think twice :x

Would you consider delidding your 4770k?

New BIOS seems to help a lot with temp, at least on Mpower MAX MSI boards. With a kraken X60, 2 AF140 fans on low fanspeed and not delidding, Im now hitting 82c max with 1.32vcore, 1.9VID, 1.2uncore.

This is after 10-15min prime95, and only on core #0.Would not have been possible on the older bios, hell I hit 90c on lower Vcores. The room has gotten down to about 20-22c ambient tho... which might be helping smile.gif.
