also som1 also told me that ATI is laos releasing new gen cards ...correct me if i m wrong on this ... if they do rellease it will they b comptiable with my MOBO/processor??
thanks in advance

yes, they will work, although if you did get that CPU it would be pretty bottlenecked, maybe a better CPU and a slower graphics card would be a better bet?

n i dont wana compromise on the graphics card , i am a die hard gamer

you might be a die hard gamer, but having a CPU like that WILL hold you back - which 8800 are you going for?

if you want to go AMD, a 4200 will still bottleneck it, i would go for an Opty an overclock it to 2.9-3 GHz

I would say go with an X2 4600+ coupled with a 8800GTS

All CPUs bottleneck the 8800 series as it stands right now. Basically as long as your hitting high 2's or low 3's your games should be fine (on dual core). For example, my rig is a C2D at 1.8GHz...I will overclock it to 3.2 - 3.5GHz.

If you're playing on a monitor that does 1280 or lower then I would suggest the GTS (maybe even 1600 or 1680). Any higher and you will be hitting quite low FPS on the GTS and you should think about the GTX. (These are all maxed settings with 16xAA overridden)

Don't even bother waiting for the R600 because it's mainly ATI fanboy hype and if you go EVGA with your 8800 you can step-up to the card NVidia releases on R600 launch day (to combat ATI).

is the above link right?

Yep, thats the one

With Opterons sometimes its best to buy second hand - that way you make sure it will overclock well.
