Surface Mount Box Cat6. Do they make female to female boxes?

Thread Starter
Looking to install cat5 or 6 cables under the house to a couple of rooms. I'm specically looking for the little boxes that would have female to female connections but I only see the ones where you have to split the ethernet cables apart. Is there a reason why it's this way? I rather not cut and splice.

The box i'm looking to buy looks like this.
