About to rebuild, Should I Upgrade?

Thread Starter
Hello all, I currently own a generally high end rig and I am looking to do a huge overhaul moving it from it's current home (Phantom 820) to a new Air540 trying to get into the case moding scene. But my build is a generation behind, based on a rampage IV extreme, and rocking a Titan I was wondering if now would be the time to upgrade. Moving to a Haswell based system and trading in for a 780ti or maybe even 2? What would be some suggestions on Haswell components? How much could I get back for my current rig to put into this new build? Any input is great, thanks everyone! thumb.gif

Titan still faster than 780ti iirc. Haswell also won't buy you more than 15% max clock for clock. Maybe more like 5%. Sata 6 has very limited utility as well, if you don't already have it. You would be throwing a lot of money at not a lot of gain. People do that here though.

It might come down to how well binned your current CPU is. If you're getting a great clock off it you might wind up with a more poorly binned haswell and even see a loss. IF your current chip won't overclock for beans though, you could get quite a bit out of making it someone else's problem and rolling the dice again.
