How do i get 1.4v on my 280x DCII Top? - Page 2

Okay, i think ill skip that. On antoher note, if anyone that has a 280x DCII Top can test and see if their card goes up to 1.3v without using force constant voltage? My card only works in 1.3v if i choose "force constant voltage" and when i contacted the shop where i purchased it ( swedens biggest computer and hardware shop) they say that they cant/wont help me since i dont have any kind of warranty left because i played around with voltage and overclocking. frown.gif

I don't know why you would think a retail shop would help you with overclocking... However, there's no real way they can tell if you have overclocked your card to begin with. rolleyes.gif

The reason the card does not sit at 1.3v is due to v-drop. GPU also have that.

Your card is such a bad clocker, going for the 1.4v won`t even help you I am afraid. Try to get the maximal clock at 1.2v and see if 1.25v gives you any advantage then try 1.3v. You will see how little 1.25v to 1.3v will help.

Okay, i did not know that. Thanks! smile.gif

Yeah i did some clocking on 1.2v and got it stable in bf4 with 1150/6800, on 1.3v i can do 1225/7000. Gonna try and see if i can keep those frequencies on 1.25v or if i can push it a little bit further on 1.3v perhaps. smile.gif

Test while gaming. 1.25v to 1.3v shouldn`t improve much but I could be wrong. Mine didn`t so I did not bother to look for other bios. You will see what you can expect with 1.4v given the difference in clock you gained from 1.2v to 1.25v to 1.3v. If you can do that, it should give you a function with the form of a curve. You can extrapolate your maximal clock speed with that at 1.4v.

You can easily do a graph in excel. It will give you a function, simply replace the value by 1.4v.

I have the non-TOP card and I cannot seem to push the card past 1110/1700 without getting artifacts or crashes. I have the voltage at 1.3 and force constant voltage on. The voltage also does not go past 1.2V in benchmarks.

Asus Top 280X here with 1.3v (1.252v with Vdrop) i can do 1235/1825

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7656094

Will try the Matrix Platinum Bios and see if it unlocks the voltage to 1.4v... I have my doubts though...

PS: Just flashed the Matrix bios and it does not work the card will not boot, we have to stick to the stock one for the time being smile.gif

With Asus GPU Tweak 2.7.1.8 i can do 1.35v on the GPU and that gives me 1.29v real voltage the card does 1250/1850 i guess we are stuck here with the 280x.
The MSI AB does not work with my card the voltage does not change only Asus GPU tweak to do the trick

There is a certain version of GPUTweak that gives a higher voltage allowance I believe....
But I'm tellin ya, it's gonna run too hot....

Mine will let me hit 1.4v, but for some reason it won't stick after it goes back to 2d mode, even if I save the profiles.... fun to bench with though.
I played Crysis 3 for an hour last night at 1280 last night with 1.3 (1.26 actual)

I am going to remove my shroud, and attach 2 x 120MM high speed fans to the heatsinks, and also put some zalman ram sinks on the VRAM to see just how far I can push this card...

I want to get a 1350/1850 FireStrike at some point soon. I'll keep you posted as to what I can get going with the 1.4v thing.

These cards definitely allow it, we are only limited by software and temps it seems....

but that version does not let you change core speed and voltage they are stuck one to the other
