Definitely a 120Hz if you can afford it. It feels smoother and you can definitely see a difference. For under $550, I would suggest one of the XStar or Qnix Korean monitors from eBay. If you don't feel safe, you can get this http://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-24-Inch-Screen-LED-lit-Monitor/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384127664&sr=8-1&keywords=144hz

I would like 2560x1440p but I don't think they have that resolution in 120hz or do they ?

If you're going to game at 1440p, I'd recommend sticking with 60Hz.

I know that some of them are capable of increasing the refresh rate, there are some threads on that if you put in a search. However if you're gaming at that resolution and want an uber amount of frames, you'll need some serious GPU horsepower. For example, my GTX 780 wouldn't benefit from a 120Hz 2560 x 1440 monitor, as it rarely gets above 70 fps. I like to crank up all of the quality settings. No doubt a 120hz 2560 x 1440 monitor would cost a butt load too. I'm not aware of any available atm.

That said, I'd love one myself!

Happy shopping!

Yes, i notice a big difference.

I fly jets/helicopters so tons of reduced motion blur is very helpful for me.
