Does the R9 290 support Light Boost?

Im building a new PC and well Im getting to know everything more or less at slow pace. Does the R9 290 support the Light Boost option or is it Nvidea only?

Another question: I hear from some people that IPS is way better while other say that a 120hz screen is a huge upgrade compared to 60hz but then you have to get a TN Panel which has worse coloring? Or is it still worth to buy a TN Panel?

Also I would love to play my games in 3D. This screen is 3D Ready Asus vg248qe will the 3D also work with the R9 290 or works it only with Nvidea cards

3D works better with Nvidia 'cause of driver support whereas AMD relies on third party software.

Lightboost does work with AMD now and it should include the latest line . . .

Thanks for your reply smile.gif

This is my component list, it's in dutch but I'll think you understand http://tweakers.net/gallery/554809?wish_id=509965#tab:wenslijst

But it seems that I would have to use an nVidea card for 3D then, any suggestion for max 400 euros? and is my build computer good enough to perform good on games in 3D?

Awesome suggestion! Also is my processor Intel Core i5 4670K Boxed good enough? Would getting better be an overkill compared to the rest?

plenty powerful. i would replace that Seagate with a Western Digital if you can find one similarly priced or even a tad more expensive. that's all.

well, not really. you see the color theme of your motherboard. based everything else on that. find some good rams that have red flavor on them. same goes with the psu.

wish you well on your build.
