Not from me we all make mistakes

But if you make the same mistake twice then you do get a medal

Just going to weigh in here. I bought the V1000, it turned out to be faulty, so I RMA'd. I then got the V850 instead. It has coil whine during most games...So I'm at a loss, I want silence too but it seems out of reach!

Do you want a new PSU?

I bought a RM750 only last week to replace a loud fanned XFX XXX Edition 650w in a backup pc which is only used a couple of hours daily.
I increased the airflow in the case (Corsair 350D) to reduce the possibility of a system shutdown.
So far, two Rift sessions have heated the PSU to a hot level, the fan hasn't kicked in and it hasn't yet cut out.

Relatively few people encountered a problem in the first place because you needed to hit a very specific set of conditions.

But also very relevant is the "last week" part because they already made a quick hardware revision to fix the issue. Current units for a while haven't had the fan / OTP problem. And the missing +5V pins on some of the other RM units is a non-issue for the hugely vast majority of home systems these days.

So RM series is just back to being a bit expensive for what you get, nothing more. Not a bad option in the right circumstances, like almost every power supply sold by major brands pending price cuts... excepting the ones Cooler Master is trying to flush out of the system or sell globally, or maybe what Thermaltake still has.

Can I get the fan to run with c-link?
