CSS Help

Hi everyone. I'm rebuilding a site for a client of mine, which runs on a CentOS VPS, running Nginx, PHP-FPM, APC, and Varnish. The site runs on the latest build of WordPress.
I've got core functionality of the eCommerce store, and started doing some themeing with my themes custom CSS. Theme is Function, by WooThemes.

I had everything working great, but then I started seeing a weird issue which I know is related to my CSS. I've tried removing all the CSS in my custom CSS, but that didn't fix it. I have Autoptimize (plugin) installed, but now disabled, that was doing JS and CSS combining, which I think may be the culprit. However, I can't seem to figure out what's causing the problem. The proble is the background color isn't setting right, abd "style..css" shows at the top of every page, including in the admin backend. I've tried tracking it down with Chrome dev tools, but I am at a loss.

Can anyone help?

If you have a content managing system something like Joomla or the like you'll have to figure out what plugins or whatever is installed. Some pre-installed plugins or services maybe doing all the work for you writing HTML/CSS/Java code etc... managing them for you. I was never a fan of content management systems I had to deal with Joomla once and it was fairly difficult to find out how to change things manually because you didn't want XYZ to happen on the page.

You can try Firebug and manually edit the CSS code live to see if you can fix the problem. There's always the option of downloading all the files you're working with and do a local installation of WordPress with XAMPP and try to figure it out from there without actually messing up the live site.

It would be good if you told us what it is meant to look like. I assume you want the nature background instead of corporate grey? I'm going to be taking a few shots in the dark here but you might want to look into these points:
  • You have some Woo Commerce custom styling in there which is changing the background: body { background: #212121 !important; }
  • You probably have some junk in your header.php theme file which is outputting "style..css" at the top. It could just be that raw text or a dodgy bit of PHP that is not outputting what you intended. Style.css is being correctly included, so I reckon you've just got some leftover code in there.

Basically, the only thing not applying from my Custom CSS is the body { background: #212121 !important;} and "style..css" is showing at the top of the screen, which it shouldn't. I have made no changes to header.php, but I will take a look there. I figured it had something to do with my minify or something like that, causing it to be garbled. When I first set it up, it worked great, but now it doesn't.

The custom CSS is applying. At least it's applying when I view the site using FF 26b.

I have about 10 functions in my Custom CSS currently, and all of them are applying for me in the latest Chrome, except for the first function, which is the body background. That's the only thing that I see wrong, other than "style..css" being in the top corner of all pages.

I know it's theme related, since switching themes makes "style..css" go away. I just can't seem to figure out where "style..css" is coming from.
