I need help on smartphones.

Thread Starter
Okay, can you guys explain it to me what is the difference between unlock phones and lock phones?
I mean I'll be getting Nexus 5 on Summer once my family plan expired, but I am not sure if I should buy a Nexus 5 on Google Store for cheaper price compare to T-Mobile.

Nexus 5 on Google Store is unlock I believe while T-Mobile one isn't.

Also should I go for Pre-Paid Phones or with a two year contract?
Reason is that I don't know which one is much cheaper for us.
My parents, my little brother and I don't call, text nor use data plan that much because majority of the time. We mostly use Wi-Fi. However, being on a prepaid phones, can you connect to the internet?

Unlocked phone gives you the flexibility of using it on any network without being under a contract with the said network provider. You do not need to agree with any terms and can leave that telecom any time you feel like it. There is no risk of contract forfeit if you cant pay your bills or some other reason, so no early termination fees.
