all of the C2D are ridiculous for gaming. As stated you hear people who say that the E6400 is worth it becuase of the extra multiplier when in all actuality id rather have 450x7 than say 420x8. Even though the overall fequency is higher, the FSB is where all the real power comes. So is the E6400 faster? Usually by a bit but is it worth it? No lol

In hind sight I probably didn't need to get a E6400, but it was only $35 more so I have that added flexibilty. As others have said, there as some very good motherboards and RAM that can reach ridiculous FSB speeds easily. Because of this, many people don't need a multi higher than 7.

They can reache 3.0Ghz easily, and are real blazers.. but they can't be used to play games of any type! Not even Freecell!

you have to get the "X" Series to play games.. cause they are Called "Xtreme" which means games.
