I have a bit of a problem with my wireless adapter on my desktop. I have a Asus PCE N53 adapter which works perfectly well with my Asus N55u router. But recently it refuses to connect to the 5ghz band of the router with an error message saying "Windows was unable to connect to "ASUS_5G". However all the other computers and smartphones are able to connect to the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands fine.

When I try to run the Windows Network Diagnostics tool it came out saying to reboot and reset the router which I did like 4 times which didn't nothing.

I tried doing a system restore and updating the wireless adapter drivers but it didn't fix it either.
