Which of the 2 is better and would they work together on Crossfire?

I can't find the Asus for sale so I might get the Sapphire and later add an Asus.

Thanks

Yes they will Xfire happily together, as for which one is better , I´m not sure there would be much difference, they´re both using the SK Hynix modules .

If I was buying one, it would be the Sapphire for their returns policy.

I bit the bullet and ordered A Sapphire off Amazon.

I am planing on upgrading to An IPS monitor capable of 2560x1440/1600. Would like to max my games in this res.
Will just one Card work fine at that Res or is it recommended to get 2? I would like to possibly add another 1-2 monitors later.
I have also looked at the 4K monitors but they are way out of my price range at the moment $3-4K wow.

It will depend upon what game you are playing and other hardware you have other than the R9 290X, such as an overclocked K series Intel CPU, and 8GB of fast RAM on the motherboard. Some games are more demanding on the CPU for example, than others.

One item that many people overlook, and works well if the game supports it is TrackIR 5. It is much less expensive than 2, 3 or 4 monitors and does a great job. I have it and it is outstanding with supported games.

Check supported games and see if some of yours are on the list.

The Games I am in to are the Space Combat like the X series(X Rebirth)

I also Racing games like NFS

And FPS like Halo.

I also do productivity stuff like Photoshop & 3DS Max.
if I am not doing games and editing I just check emails and check my favorite sites like This one.

What you guys think of the Dell U2713HM ?
it got great reviews on new egg.
it seams going one step up and the prices are in the 1K Range.

I will check out those links, Thanks!
