290x waterblocked vs 290 crossfire vs waterblocked 7990

i am in a dilemma my good OCN friends..
im pondering my next upgrade path. And was wondering what you guys thought.
Should i purchase a 290x and a water block and possibly add another 290x at tax time? Or purchase 2 290s for crossfire?
OR take one of my 7990s and waterblock it ? I only play at 1080 at 120hz . I know the 7990 is faster than the 290x but i have a massive upgrade itch and am wanting to see what the card has got , especially under water. Would the waterblocked 290x oc good enough to match anywhere near my 7990? But would the 290s in crossfire be bottlenecked by my i72600k?
What do i do guys and gals? redface.gif

Overclock your CPU + get water block for you 7990 should be the less expensive option.

Otherwise CFX 290 is smoking fast and would be my choice.

im liking what i see with the 290s. But i am just worried about the bottleneck , if there will be i guess. I have the processor at 4.7 now. Should 5 do it?
i am looking at an upgrade on mobo and processor during tax time .

Honestly, a 2600K shouldn't bottleneck anything past 4.5 Ghz, if there is a bottleneck it will be < 5% which is not so bad.

OP R9 290 overclocked to 1.2+ Ghz will crush any game at 1080p. wait for custom r9 290 cards like asus dcii top or do your own cooler mod

btw the video is furmark with no throttling and 95% fan speed. you can easily aim for 1.2 ghz clocks for 24/7 gaming
