Hi everyone.

So I just built a new rig (nothing too fancy, but in sig) and plan to add a Radeon R9 290 in the next 8-12 weeks. I currently have 3 Dell UltraSharp 2009W that I use (well, with my previous rig on a 6970) and am looking to sell those and upgrade. I don't think I'm looking for 27", but probably something in the 23-24" area. I know I will start with two, and possibly add a third. Typical use would be office work, multimedia, web development, and some gaming (FPS like BF4, RTS like StarCraft2, and lets just say MMO like WoW or Terra).

I am currently looking at the Dell U2412M, but am wondering if I should look elsewhere (they are ~$300/ea, which is about my budget). I'd like a resolution of 1920x1200 or larger, but would consider 1920x1080 if price/performance ratio was excellent. When gaming, I'd likely use Eyefinity (once/if I had three monitors).

I would prefer to use DisplayPort, and have an interest in DisplayPort 1.2 (multi-streaming). With the current R9 290s only have 1 DP (along with 2 DVI and 1 HDMI), I figure I'd want to consider something like that. I know that something like a Dell 2413 would in the $450-500 range, which is out of my budget. Also, It's my understanding that with DP 1.2 and multistreaming, I could run up to 4 monitors at 1920x1200, or up to 2 at 2560x1600.

So does anyone have any opinions on DP 1.2 and MST? Is it a waste of money right now? I mean, I know HDMI can output 1920x1200, so should I just save money and go that route?

can anyone recommend a good monitor? I don't know if I should be looking at IPS, TN, PLS or what. I do like minimal bezel, but who doesn't? I know the Korean monitors are all the craze right now, but the popular PLS ones I see (qnix/x-star) all appear to be 27"?
