Maybe if you bothered to read the other thread and the 1148 posts there, you'd have your answer.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1440518/various-geforce-gtx-780ti-reviews

But in short:

It's faster, MASSIVELY more quieter, draws less power, has after market coolers right from day 1, has 3 AAA games included, and unlike Crossfire, SLi actually works when you are in "Full screen windowed mode".

Not everyone cares about money as you do, they take a whole host of things into consideration beyond just price.

It doesn't work in Windowed mode.

And people are having issues with 290/290X's in Crossfire mode even in full screen mode.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1440600/r9-290-having-problem-with-crossfire

http://www.overclock.net/t/1439855/im-having-some-major-issues-with-my-crossfired-gigabyte-radeon-r9-290x-setup/

etc, etc, etc.

But I digress. None of this has ANYTHING to do with the supposed "quality control" issues that a GTX 780Ti from one company who made unauthorized changes to a reference board and is now paying for it.

An oblivious, albeit very common, misconception.

These drivers introduced frame metering for DX10 and DX11 and it was a HUGE success.

Except these drivers do nothing for eyefinity, Dx9 (which a lot of games are still in), and as mentioned Xfire is an Xfart and doesn't work in windowed mode.

I too have a pair of 7970s and quite often wish they were EVGAs instead. frown.gif

Live and learn I guess.

Live and learn I guess.

While I think Dx9 is still an issue, I believe they fixed eyefinity for at least the r9 series.

Radeon R9 290X CrossFire you will get frame pacing support with the current driver at Eyefinity resolutions, and 4K resolutions
