Can anyone explain why CoD: Ghosts is DX11 Only? - Page 2

They are not going to waste the money on the pc .. so you can play at less graphics. They will do it for Xbox and Playstation because it's easy to do they all have the same hardware. It's not so easy to do when every PC on the plant run different for the next PC. Everything about PC is hard when it come to making games. Because of OS's and Hardware variations. There not going to spend huge amounts of money so you can play the game on less graphic. The future is DX11+ get with the program lol

What get's me here is you will spend $60 on a game or games but will not spend $100+ on a video card the has DX11 ????? Priorities I guess.

Even if you did upgrade your video card to something half way decent I would also change that power supply.

Nope, the issue is my motherboard and power supply.

  • My mobo is socket LGA 775. No worthy CPU for the future upgrade uses this anymore.
  • If I was to upgrade my GPU, my CPU would become a bottleneck and possibly my PSU. It would be pointless as my weakness right now is my CPU.
  • If I upgrade my PSU, it does nothing to my current performance.
  • If I upgrade my GPU and PSU together, the whole CPU thing still stands as a horrible bottleneck.
  • If I upgrade my motherboard + CPU, then I would also need to do my ram to DDR3, and definitely my PSU.

To put it simply, my current computer is all upgraded out. There are no minor upgrades left that are cheap. The next step for me is an entire overhaul, an entire new system. That I do not have the money for right now, a spare $60 for a favorite game/series that I enjoy.... I can find some spare money around for.

The future is DX11, and I will switch when I see it is time and games start requiring DX11, because they actually use them. We are not at that point yet, if I can run Battlefield 4, Arma 3 and Crysis 3, I just do not think its time yet. CoD:Ghosts locking me out is just stupidity and a lost customer for them =/

arma 3 does look absolutely remarkable when scale is considered, as it should be. there are no levels. its a different ballgame (in arma 2 as well; hell maybe even in op flash, but i was too young to appreciate then), & what they did is mindboggling.
