First Water Cooling Build

Hello, the last few weeks I've been researching on water cooling kits and different pieces for the system and was considering the XSPC kit to start off with since I'm new. This will be my first water cooling build. I was looking at XSPC RayStorm D5 Photon AX240 kit and the RayStorm D5 AX240 Dual bay Res. They are both priced at around $250 a kit. Do you think I could build a better system then the XSPC kit and stay under $250? Maybe better pumps and a cooler looking res? I just want to cool the cpu at first and then my gpu a little later. All suggestion please.. biggrin.gif

My setup:

Corsair 500r
Corsair ax 760
Corsair 8gb 1600mhz
Intel i7 3770k Ivy bridge
Gigabyte UD4H
Samsung 840 Evo 250gb
Intel 320 160gb
EVGA 660 ti 2gb

Not that I am trying to sway you from a bay res, but I would go with the tube config since they look better. thumb.gif

For $250 you get a starter kit however it would be difficult to speak for the quality of the components they use. I would track someone down who has experience with them and can vouch for their quality. I know that XSPC does have some good quality parts, I'm just not sure if they use them in these kits.

As for building your own kit it may be a little difficult to get all the components you will need and keep the budget under $250. Water cooling budgets have a way of being unintentionally extended. rolleyes.gif

Very nice, well I think I will start out with the tube res kit from XSPC and then just upgrade from there.. unless anyone has anything else to say about those kits, please mention your experience. Thank you
