Regarding Starcraft 2, definitely more about the small and simple mice instead of large and palm grip. Look at for example Razer Abyssus, Logitech G100s, Zowie Mico... things along those lines.

The actual pros use pretty much anything, laser, optical, etc. For example the laser Logitech G9 was popular in Korea and the optical Logitech G1 and Logitech Mini (the Zowie Mico copies that shape if you can't find how the Mini looks), Logitech G9 with the grip removed to make it smaller. It wasn't much about performance as something like the Mini was just a normal office mouse, 400dpi and 125Hz polling rate, couldn't track fast movements without freaking out so no good for FPS games. Of course all the mice used were still alright for moving a mouse pointer around on the screen.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I feel it's misleading to say that things used were "crappy", making people think those guys just used something random. The things used were just a little old and cheap. The mice were not broken at all. They worked exactly like they should.

.

Don't they use mouses with extra buttons or something?

Like the Razer Naga?

Nope, that's a job for the hand on your keyboard. tongue.gif

WoW, I don't know. You don't have to click on stuff much with the mouse? So I guess you can use the mouse hand for pressing keys, but I bet it'll still work out faster and with less mistakes with your keyboard hand for skills.

They use the keyboard for commands. Keyboard is a SC player's priority.

In most professional gaming the use of macros is banned. Mice like the Naga are useless in those environments.

Wait, does that mean you cant use those 2 extra buttons on the left side of mouses such as the Razer DeathAdder?

What about games such as Counter Strike or COD4?

Mouse 4 and 5 are standard buttons that should be recognized by games without binding another function to them, and yes, macros are also forbidden in FPS, especially if they have something to do with the mouse, not to mention the recent developments.(a4tech and stuff)
