Does Nvidia believe 4k resolution is important with their upcoming Maxwell architecture?

I personally believe manufactures may be fairly quick to rollout competitively priced 4k resolution displays within the next five years. TVs and monitor sales are lacking. It will temporarily pick up during the holidays of course. I think Nvidia has had 4k on their mind. Maxwell architecture will hopefully show a large raw performance increase instead of a meager five to fifteen percent boost over the last generation. With manufactures reaching the limits of silicone, Nvidia’s next lineup will most likely be around longer. The current release model is a testament to this. Do 4k displays interest you? Does Nvidia’s Maxwell based enthusiast-grade GPUs have what it takes without the need for SLI? Is there anything else you would like to add? Keep in mind this is all speculation. Please be respectful of other members’ opinions. Thanks! wink.gif

Almost everyone has upgraded to flat panels. Revenue from television has been winding down. An attempt to generate more interest in upgrading existing sets (3D) was largely unsuccessful. 4K is attempt number two. I'm confident it will become standard, but it will take some time. The content is not there. I have no use for the extra pixels (in a television, anyway). I might in 5 years.
