4K monitors? - Page 2

I know they're not the same size but, just so you don't too hastily jump to the Seiki 4K monitor.

CNET contributor Geoff Morrison followed up with a comparison between the 50-inch 4K Seiki LED LCD and a 50-inch 720p Samsung plasma that cost $500. The plasma won.

Was on another thread on here.

I contacted few graphics card oems about 2160p/60 and the only answer I got was "atm dp is the only way to output 4k/60hz from pc and sadly we cant provide you with any more details about hdmi 2.0 capable outputs or adapters." The only exception was club3d support saying that they will possibly offer dp - hdmi 2.0 adapters in q2 2014.

The CHEAPEST 4K monitor that can do 60Hz is $3500. There are plenty of others that cost upwards of $5000 or more.

The 4K TV that people are talking about for $500 only doze 60Hz at 1920x1080 resolution. At 4K resolutions, it is only 30Hz ... Even at 2560x1440 resolution it is only 31Hz ... pretty much making it totally worthless for a gaming monitor at 4K resolution.

Honestly, don't expect any 60Hz 4K monitors to be under $1000 until at LEAST middle of 2015, and $750 until the end of 2015.

People, and broadcasters have just spent many hundreds of billions of dollars upgrading to 1080p, it will be some time before 4K is more than just a novelty.

47: i believe that 4K future is not that far. After all, biggest price of TV/monitor is screen. So if i judge real prices from chinese 1st gen 4K TVs prices (39" ~ 650$, 42" ~ 900$, 50" ~ 1300$. Only price of even bigger ones starts skyrocketing, even for domestic China models). That 39" already costs less then Dell's 30" QHD. I expect no later but in half a year chinese brands also starting to put out 2nd gen with 4K input .. and with them in market leading vendors will have no choice but to drop their prices down much faster then they'd wish.
P.S.
I really really hope for Panasonic one to not be the only one released with DP alongside HDMI2. Or for Panasonic to release some 42-55" cheaper models with similar input capabilities. I have no slightest clue as to why all the other vendors ignore DP, when adding it will increase price of very expensive TV only slighty, yet will rise numbers sold so much more as it will enable fully using their capabilities with existing gpu-s, not with just very limited count of AV tech or waiting another year for another new generation of gpu-s.

Uinformed? laugh, if you only knew

You must be one of their "knowledgeable" employees that avoids customers and think they are important. Don't even get me started if your in management. Your company is a joke and relys on lies and bs to attract customers.
When you do your sunday sales, you put the cheap prices to get customers in the door and then lie that your out of stock and try to sell them something more profitable. You are the definition of why corporate capitalism is crime under the disguise of legality.

They are talking about having an updated HDMI 2.0 model in January. I wonder if Asus and Dell will wake up at that point and make their 31.5" 4K monitors priced in the realm of sanity.

Seiki Digital SE39UY04 is available at Amazon for $490 with free shipping.

Not great for gaming but lots of positive reviews and info there.

Wonder what price will be if they come out with HDMI 2.0 version?
