opinions on my watercooling parts? help please

the top 5 items are in AUD (Australian dollar) and the bottom 3 are in NZD (new zealand dollar)
so basically don't say "your paying way to much bro" because this is the normal price here.... cant do any better...

i would appreciate if you can give some input on what you think about these parts... any tips and tricks ect...
iv never watercooled before

You have everything you would need to successfully create a loop. However, is the max you can fit in your case a 240? It is recommended at minimum a 360 for CPU+GPU. Unless you are running stock then that 240 might be sufficient given you run your fans faster. I do not have much experience with that pump so I cannot comment on it, but if you can stretch your budget to fit a DDC or D5 I feel like that would be better in the long run. If anyone else chimes in with experience in regards to that pump, take their word for it. I am also assuming that you already have your fans, or are in the process of purchasing them.

Other than that, everything looks good as I said before. I absolutely love the EK Clean CSQ blocks. thumb.gif

yeah i got a really good deal on that cpu block, 35% off or something, it was a clearance sale.

i plan to add another 240mm rad in the future, about 2 months.
i am running gpu and cpu at stock at the moment but will oc as soon as i learn how... i have no idea, im looking for a step by step guide at the moment...

(i have a i7 4770k and GTX 780)

i wanted to get the D5 pump but this is already costing me about $700 dollars so... maybe in the future...
change that pump to a ddc or d5? that DCP 4.0 is poor! if its anything like the one I had it break after a short while!

id try for a bigger rad too if you can fit it? or a thicker UT60?

what case etc do you have, then we will have a better idea?

Good, just don't push too far because that single 240 does not give you much overhead, if any at all. When you get that extra 240 that should give you good overclocking headroom. Good luck with your loop! biggrin.gif

Quick note, those fittings you checked to be for 3/8 x 5/8 (same size as your tubing) and not 3/8 x 1/2 tubing correct?

Hey, where are you buying from? Just cuz I'm after some more places that will ship to NZ for reasonable prices so I can get some parts that aren't available here. Also, I agree with above comments, go for a D5

I would recommend overclocking before WCing just for a reference point, and you know what is different.

and yes the fittings are 3/8 x 5/8 not 3/8 x 1/2
post #9 of 14
just took of pic of my busted burnt out DCP 4.0

I recommend steering well clear & getting a D5 if you can?

maybe just get some cheaper fittings & tubing for now & just concentrate on your main components?

just seen you said you already bought the stuff, oh well! doh.gif

the only reason i havn't bought 2 rads at the moment is i HAVE to get a rad with 30mm thickness max, i can maybe do 35 but itll look quite big...

no one i can find sells a good 30mm rad/...

and like i said... iv already bought all that stuff... ill just try return the pump and get a new one...

p.s the rad i have at the moment is 64mm thick so its not like its gonna be tiny....
