That's much better than I thought you were getting. I thought I read 4.0 somewhere. If you're getting 4.7 I wouldn't expect any more without water, and quite a bit of it. H100i or something like that. Even then you likely won't get it above 5.0 which isn't really all that much faster. You're getting what the chip can do I think, and you won't get a ton more moving to haswell. Delidding may not even help that much.

yeah most of the ivy members in the club were pretty much on some sort of water.

i aint mad though, not like a 4.7 3770k wont kill everything in its sights. maybe in the future i'll get into water and really try to push 5ghz

Different colors don't change performance. The only reason some colors are cheaper than others is they don't sell as many so lower the price to get them to move. Some places black is the most expensive. and white is cheapest.

Phanteks PH-TC14PE is very good.. but so are many others. In TheLab link above you can see 1.5c difference between top 5 air (Akasa Madusa, Silver Arrow SB-E, NH-U14S, PH-TC14PE & Dark Rock Pro 2) and 1.5c is within the tolerance of error. Megahelms & NH-D14 are 2.2 & 2.4c warmer.. Again. with error tolerance of 2c there's hardly any difference in cooling.
