Best earbuds to use with iPod

Thread Starter
I want to upgrade my iPod earbuds to somthing a bit nicer, but I am unsure as to what to get. The two that I have been looking at are these:

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL....8.25.7.11.0.3

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL....8.25.7.11.1.3

I am open to others, however. I want something that provides crisp, clear sound with good bass respawns. Sound cancling would be nice. I am trying to keep the price under $100.

I would go with the Shure set. Both Shure and Bose are known for the audio quality, but Shure does more with the professional audio industry. Or the ones selectodude linked look good too.

Etymotic Research ER6i.

If you could save up another $70 or so dollars, the Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 Pros are great too.

The ones I chose are from a new kid iirc, so you're not paying for the name. They're insanely high quality.

I have been reading some reviews of them on amazon.com, and they seem quite good.

Anyone else have some they would like to recomend?

Sorry for the double-post, but one review I read recomended these for better bass respanse then the V-MODA phones. I like bass, but I hate muddy bass response. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD595's that I use with my computer/TV, and the bass response on them is just about perfect. I dont know how they compair with these, bass-wise, though.

Too much bass will make your music sound muddy and garbled. The Vibes have very good bass response. If you want heavy bass (techno, ect), I'd get the Sony MDR71s and save some money.

I am asuming you have these phones are speeking from experiance? As I said, I very much want to avoid the "muddy and garbled" bass you describe, but at the same time, I do want to be away that it is there.

ATM, it is comming down to the V-MODA Vibes and the Etymotic ER6i with the Vibes holding a slight lead. Please give me your feedback!
