nobody can do nothing if it's crappy port lol i mean those games doesn't count here, because a game from 2008 like gta iv still runs @ 40 fps on my rig so if a game is ported that crappy then it doesn't count because no hardware in existance will give me the experience i want

I use IBT pretty much exclusively. I need 1.23 at 4.5 (with HT on) for stability. Haven't bothered going higher. Temps are high 50's celcius (With H220 push-pull).

I've never had a single issue since first getting the chip. I could probably go a fair bit higher with my cooling setup but really no need.

Funny thing is at 4.4, I only need 1.15 for stability...

how many runs ? i just did 25 runs @ 4.5 @ 1.35, crappy chip, but can i declare it stable after those 25 runs ?

also will 1.35v @ 62 ~ 64c degrade my chip fast ? because i heard over 1.35v degrades ivy so fast, right or wrong ? rolleyes.gif

IBT generates more heat and is good for a fast check when you want to find if you are close to stability or not. In my experience it's not as good as finding instabilities as prime because it just runs the same test over and over again. What i usually do is run ten passes at custom memory settings (max free mem - 100mb) to check stability and temps and if all goes well i proceed with running prime for a day. Yes, it sounds excessive but it's the only way to test all the available ftts. I used to run prime for 8-10 hours and think i was stable till i started getting random application crashes. I now do 24 hours of prime and then up the offset another 0.005 just to be sure, i've never gotten a crash this way.

As far as safety goes, i've read a few reports about ib chips that degraded in less than 2 years with a constant voltage > 1.32. No two chips behave exactly the same though, you could run yours at 1.4v for five years and never have a problem, but i say better safe than sorry. if you want to ensure that your chip has a long life don't disable power states, use offset voltage to overclock, stay below 80c temps during IBT and don't go much above 1.3v.

I have a crappy 3570k paired with an Alpenfohn K2. I can do 4.5 with 1.32 but temps go as high as 78c during IBT. So i use a multi of 44 and a max vcore of 1.28v which generates 72c during IBT.

invincible20xx, 62~64c @ 1.35 sound unrealistically low for IBT, have you delided your cpu? What is your ambient temperature?
