7970 $550 on 28nm vs 580 40nm $500.
When the 7970 launched, the 580 had been King of the Hill and was $500.
I sure hope that a brand new card, on a brand new architecture, would beat a 2 year old card, and it did, and AMD priced it accordingly.
7990 launched at $1000, or did you conveniently forget that part?
Only reason it dropped in price so quick is because it wasn't selling at that price. Just like the 9590 dropped in price quickly when it wasn't selling at $900.
Only one failing to see the logic here is YOU.
Yes I know it launched at that but it isn't at that point anymore but you act like it is.
You compare an OC AMD cpu made for people that go for the highest clock for fun rather than a usable piece of silicon we all know the 8320 is the same but not binned.
What is it with your preferences, the 7990 has a lower price than the 690 and Titan (fact) the dual Hawaii card will most likely have a higher price than 2 r9 290's (expectation)
The r9 290 and r9 290x are cheaper than the Titan and 780 Ti and the r9 290 is also cheaper than the 780 (fact)
What is it that you want to hear you keep bashing compan(ie/y)(s) for making great products but you seem to focus on bashing only one company in a thread that is about a card they'll be making in the future.
