The Hundred Gunner, thank you so much for pointing that up. Quite frankly I thought I would alienate members by stating what I believe to be the truth. Years ago when I didn't know so much about ASUS Crosshair Boards, RAID, etc., members really, really helped me. And there just was not an unkind comment to be found.
Nowadays, as soon as I open a thread trolls flock very much like over at Toms Hardware. Some good people on TH as well, but when I encounter trolls, especially trolls who know considerably less than I do about a topic, I leave. Recently I spend most of my time on the more specialized forums - Linux, network security, etc.
My best friend on OCN is TwoCables, who is arguably one of the more helpful people on this forum. TC never blows smoke; never acts like he knows something when he doesn't; but when he does speak, it's sure time to take notes. He has one of the more precise minds I have encountered on the net. Sure we disagree, but it never gets nasty. For quite some time TC left this forum for the reason I just described. I did my best to bring him back, simply because I know he's good for this forum.
I just wish there were some way I could hit the "Eject" button for all the nasty people I have experienced recently. That's another reason I have all but left OCN, that coupled with the fact that I believe most of the more knowledgeable people have gone elsewhere.
Sorry to be negative.
Btw, while we're being honest, please allow me to say that I really appreciated your "signature":
But you would be amazed by how many people think that the only reason to have a computer is to play games, and that playing games is all that anyone with a computer does." - dangerousHobo
As far as playing games on any of my many computers, I'll take up drugs before I do that. What a huge waste of this fine technology.
