X264 only 32-bit, ok to test? [DUPLICATE/ANSWERED]

Thread Starter
Seems X264 can only run in 32-bit mode because AviSynth is only 32-bit.
Is that how people are using it for non-synthetic stress testing, or i need to figure out a way to run it 64-bit for more accurate loads?

Thanks!

not sure how to delete this thread, you need to run an admit cmd prompt and the 64-bit mode in X264 will work.

It's pretty much the same either way. I've run it both ways and it doesn't seem to be any better or worse. If you want to run it in 64 bit you'll have to run it as an administrator though, since it installs a 64 bit version of Avisynth temporarily.

If you go to the x264 forums.. or rather results, people are saying the 64bit version has a bug as it should apparently cycle the same as 32bit (but as you'd see it's double).

Anyway, not related to your question but figured I throw that in there. I haven't seen any difference beyond that.
