NEED ADVICE!!! MY RIVE DIED... - Page 2

as far as tech specs go for some popular motherboards, this is a great source of info to start you off: http://www.sinhardware.com/images/vrmlist.png

I don't know of any issues with the P9X79 E-WS. It really shouldn't have any problems with it at all; the price it commands is partly due to the amount of testing and validation Asus does on it.

All Asus mobo's will be equally capable of high overclocks if you're not dipping into sub-zero stuff, the difference will be in the feature set, price and aesthetics. I don't know a great deal about ASRock mobo's, so I can't comment on that.

All the best

What about a good priced MSI?

MSI X79A-GD45 PLUS...

I like the layout and the disposition of connectors in this board.

Any problem with this board?.

Regards.

I've played with an gd45 for a few hours, it was a decent board, I only tried it subzero cooled but it could run a 4930k at 5.8Ghz with well clocked memory for benchies at least.
Should be able to handle any overclock you throw at it on air & water.

The Big Bang II is one of the best x79 overclocking boards.

Well...

Finally I decided to purchase the new MSI X79A-GD45 PLUS....

I like the motherboard because the disposition of the connectors and is very well priced.

The MSI BING BANG XPOWER II not fit in my case XL-ATX ....

The died RIVE have been like a cool water in my mind...so, IΒ΄ll save the money and choose this MSI (has all function that I needed...), I donΒ΄t need 14 USB, 14 SATA...etc,etc.

Regards!!!.

If not for ROG I would've picked a P9X79-E WS for sure. For mild overclocks and not extreme overclocking the Asus WS boards are very good.

Hope you'll have a good experience with MSI, I've read good things about their GD65.
