My GTX 580 is idling at 85-90C

Hello,

I'm pretty new to this whole forum and I really had no idea where to post this problem. So my GTX 580 is idling at desktop at about 80 degrees celcius. Yesterday I cleaned all the dust from the video card and it's cooler. I put it back into the motherboard, booted, and it was still running at around 80 degrees. I doubt its the heat sensor or whatever because when I touch it its real hot.

Heres the info from Speccy.

Make sure the fan is spinning a good amount. It could be clogged or caught on something.

It is running fine. I also cleaned the dust from the fan and it didn't help at all.

What was your idle temp before cleaning? Have you checked if the fan is spinning? It might also be your thermal paste crusting or drying out, but I kinda doubt it.

Redo the TIM and if the problem still occurs. I would RMA it.
