The Emotion Engine (Prodigy Matx Mod Conversion)

The Emotion Engine Build

I'm starting a new build and will be using the Bitfenix Prodigy case to mod. This is the regular ITX variant, NOT the new matx one, which in my opinion isn't too space efficient, but that's a whole story in itself. This is the first time I will be buying a brand new case to hack up. Excited and weary at the same time, I hope I don't have to bin it, if I mess up.

The name for this build is 'The Emotion Engine'. A name I really wanted to use and create this build around for what I will be using the machine for. Also for what I want it to visually represent. I'm an aspiring 3D animation/VFX artist, as well as a film maker. The purpose of this machine, will be to help churn out all the visuals and imaginations into masterpieces to share with others.
It will literally be making my dreams come true in essence.
Also, some of you may have picked up on the fact, that it was also the name given to the CPU in the PlayStation 2. Gaming is the 2nd biggest thing in my life, so fitting also thumb.gif

THE AIM
I wanted to accomplish a few things with this new build of mine. It has to ooze creativity and imagination aswell appeal to my inner geek. It will be water-cooled and built on the arctic white colouring theme which appeals to the creative side of my brain I guess. In that the colour white also encompasses all the colours of the rainbow in itself.

THE PLAN
The case will be modded to accommodate a MATX motherboard and have a 2 tier design, with the motherboard mounting on the 1st tier, and the psu/drives, located on the 2nd tier, which is behind the motherboard.
The matx tray will have to be cut from another case to use in this.

Will update with system specs and case details soon. biggrin.gif

Here goes the surgery to gut the case, feels wrong taking the screwdriver to something so perfect looking, straight out of the box.
It's all laid out on my desk and I'm taking my time as I like to do, just to get everything perfect.

The donor matx tray has been located.
Ended up picking up 2 AM2 systems in full working order for £20, bargain. Selling the parts off and hacking into one of the cases for the motherboard tray, here we go.

Got a nifty little metal sheet nibbler to cut with. The dremel took longer, was more expensive and very messy. I highly recommend anyone looking into cutting cases up, to invest in one, they are cheap and well worth it.

Love this tool. Wish i would have had one a long time ago when i spent hours, making terrible cuts look better and inhaling so much steel dust that i may as well have been smoking it.
The gigabyte board is here biggrin.gif
