I would suggest considering a larger case if you are concerned with cable management and size restricted hardware compatibility both now and in the future.

I bought a Fractal Design Refine R2, and while it's a nice case, quiet with good cooling and flexibility, I wish I had bought a full tower. It certainly looked expansive at the time, but now it's restrictiveness in regards to adding large radiators and next to 0 space for cable management behind the mobo tray make me want to upgrade. Next time, I'll be going with a Case Labs case (and maybe adding noise insulation foam) and not buying another case for years.

At the very least, I'd recommend making sure that Fractal added additional space behind the mobo tray for cable management, as that issue coupled with a non-modular PSU made it very frustrating to deal with. I heard they added more space behind the tray a couple years ago, but I'm not sure about that. Just wanted to give you my 2 cents, as someone who bought a Fractal mid tower and wishes I bought a full tower case.

I mean i have the midi r2 and cant get a full tower now, and I guess I can use this new rive black on it and instead of using the grommet holes, I could slip out the wires from the back
post #15 of 17
The holes will still work, they will just not be right at the edge of the MB. Youll have to tuck them behind them MB a bit.

Ah, the good old "you have an expensive chip you can afford anything" line...
