3 Water-cooled 290X's side-by-side?

Thread Starter
I am planning on getting 3 MSI Radeon R9 290X Graphics Cards(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127768) and water cooling them with this block(http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=39424:d5a13ef9c88f0c5580b73badd74cb2c6) and I was wondering if I could put them side by side on this motherboard(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157327). If I can, is there any extra hardware required or can I just use the Triple-SLI Gen3 Bridge that comes with the board?

Please help me! redface.gif Thanks in advanced! thumb.gif

Yes you can put them side by side and you wont need any extra hardware.

Keep in mind you'll be limited to 8x 8x 4x. It's been shown that these 290/X's are bandwidth hungry.

EDIT: I think I was wrong about that. redface.gif

Eh you mean the double PLX chips? I would not mix PLX chips with the DMA engines which is how the 290/x talk to each other thru the pcie bus. That said, that board is on the slow side. You will be paying a premium to go slower.

They are bandwidth hungry but theoreticals do not equal real world saturation.

The lanes are fixed. Read the reviews on them and look in the manual. The other slots are dead slots.

Well I can trade it in but I need a motherboard that supports tri-xfire and has at least 5 SATA III ports and at least one SATA II port
