G.SKILL HZ DDR500'S will not boot unless set to 3-5-5-10

I cant seem to fix this at all....ive tried setting these to 3-4-4-8 which is what it is supposed to be but it just sits in the windows loading screen and doesnt boot...i dont know what the crap is up with this....even in the memory bus properties in everest it reads that the real clock is running at 234mhz when it should be at 250mhz...ive even forced it to run at 250 but it still reads 234...im wondering if i have some bad ram...its severly hindering my overclocks....please help!!

Do you actually *have* the 3-4-4-8 sticks? Some of the older ones ran at looser timings (check the label on the actual RAM sticks... timings should be on there).

Yeah, I remember looking through worklog where the guy claimed he got a certain pair of modules, but he couldn't get them to boot at their rated speeds.

Then he looked further at the sticker on the modules and he saw a *little tiny* v1.1 note.

They had screwed him over.

He have them a call and they replaced his memory.

They are not bad sticks just higher timings. You may achieve an even higher OC with these sticks with these timings.

My HZ stick is a bit wierd.

It says 3-5-5-10 @ 250mhz in CPU-Z, but on the sticker it says 3-4-4-8 PC4000 :s

Ah well, it runs fine at 3-4-3-8 at 250mhz with 2.7V

They all do that under the spd table. Even mine does.

Hehe...same as mine then

Hairston - take the sticks out, see if they say 3-4-4-8 on them. If they do, and you can't get them to boot at that with 2.7V then I'd recommend contacting G.Skill
