Tablet for college student - use for homework and entertainment

So I have an android cellphone, a desktop replacement laptop, and I'm in college looking for a tablet (with keyboard)

Why a tablet? Because I am sick of doing some email management and paper editing and looking up on my stocks on a small screen and I am sick of carry my 15 pound laptop around campus.

What am I looking for? A tablet that is suitable for a college student:
8" or above screen
windows 8.1
compatible with keyboard, but has to comfortable to use (accessory stands ect)
Budget: under $400.

I do know about asus t100 tablet and it is on the top of the list, but I am wondering if there is any better alternatives? I am open to tablet with an Bluetooth keyboard (mouse too?) I basically wanna use this tablet as a portable computer when in class, but for entertainment on the go.

Thanks.

If the T100 had a 1080p screen, it would be absolutely perfect... Honestly, I don't think anything better will pop up for awhile.

well there is the dell venue 8" and 11" though the 11" is slightly out of your budget

Heard the Asus T100 smudges very easily and the build quality is sub-par but can't complain for the price.. You can't really ask more for a tablet with Windows 8.1/Office for that price. But the Dell Venue should be something to look out for.

I played with the Asus T100 at a show-off on campus (RIT) and I absolutely LOVED the tablet. So light-weight, the keyboard was really nice and if the battery really does last 10 hours, then I am SOLD.

One thing that i did not like too much (but not enough to bother me) is that the mouse pad is pretty small. Thats fine, bluetooth mouse all is needed.

Nothing meets your criteria except the T100. The Dell Venue Pro 11" is the next closest thing but it costs a lot more. Maybe wait until a refurbished deal comes along to be more inside your budget. Clovertrail really is an excellent cpu.
