Gentle Typhoon VS Corsair Stock

Thread Starter
So i own a Corsair 540 air cabinet, and i would like to to replace some of the fans due to "semi-loud noise".

The exhaust fan in the back is actually quite great in speak of silence, i cannot hear it AT ALL; Though the 2 140mm intakes as the front is a bit.... i wouldnt say loud, but since im only like 0,5meters away from my computer, they are rather "annoying", if that is a better word for it.

So i was wondering how 3x 120mm Gentle Typhoon Would do vs the 2 140mm from stock.

I picked the 800rpm since my current (the stuck) only runs at 600 rpm and the cooling is fine. They are reported to be 9 dbA so i guess i wouldnt be able to hear them at all.

Any thoughts on better fans in same price range? 139 DKK = 25USD.

Scythe make some amazing fans, you cant go wrong with them, other suggestions i would give are

corsair quiet edition airflow series 120mm fans

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_1130_49_1156&products_id=34309

14.95 usd each.

XSPC xinruilian 120mm low noise edition fan -

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_1130_49_1050&products_id=32751

6.95 usd each, theyre cheap, and their performance is amazing, i have a bunch of the 1650rpm versions.

noiseblocker eloop 120mm ultra silent fans -

http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=36_1130_49_1045&products_id=35707

22.95 each, rated at under 8DB, i had some for my radiators, the 1900 rpm ones, great fans.

still though, scythe are my favorite fans tongue.gif

Alright thanks for the quick answer, i think im gonna look each of them up, and i might end up going for the colorscheme that matches my PC, if they are close to the same biggrin.gif

- While we are at it, have you heard anything about the release of non-reference coolers on the r9 290? i heard something about the end of this month. Im probably gonna end up buying an r9 290 which is around 550 USD, so if the aftermarket coolers are gonna be alot better but around the same price, i would much rather buy that (obviously xD)

Yes, all the fans i linked are amazing for radiators, the xspc, the corsair SP(static pressure) not AF(airflow) edition, and noiseblockers are built with radiators in mind, as are the gentle typhoons.
