Next gen consoles being x86, will we see some drastic optimizations on the PC side?

Nowhere near knowledgeable enough on this subject so I'm curious if anybody could shed some insight on this. With the new consoles being of x86 PC architecture, just by that nature, are we guaranteed great, noticeable optimizations when it comes to newer PC ports just by the fact that they don't have to deal with porting it from the 360's PowerPC arc, or the PS3's cell? Just wondering if/when we'll start actually seeing the effects of this, if we will.

Well yes and no. There should be less really crappy ports like GTA4 but don't expect anything to really change in terms of PC gaming performance. Optimizations for the PS4 and XBO won't directly translate to PC. Also at the end of the day it will still largely be up to the devs how good they want to make the PC version of their games.

Ahh dang guess I shouldn't have expected anything more. Oh welp, guess it's just a matter of waiting and seeing what comes next then. Thanks for the answer, rep'd.
