Secured erased a secondary ssd, book disk failure in bios

Thread Starter
I am typing from a usb bootable linux distro.

Today I used parted magic to secure erase my crucial m4 after I reinstalled windows 7 on my plextor mp5 SSD.

After securing erasing my bios goes to verifiying DMI pool.. says success then says boot disk failure insert disk and press enter.

I was afraid maybe I wiped my plextor drive but within gparted it says my drive is still there with all the data..

The only thing i can think of is that I have I insatlled the windows 7 by extracting the files from the .iso on my crucial m4. On my m4 I had a folder that had all windows files, I clicked set up and proceeded to install windows 7 and had dual boot with OS on each. I deleted the crucial m4 securely and now can't get into windows on my other drive but gparted is telling me the plextor drive was not erased.

any ideas?

is it possible the MBR was on the drive you erased?

if so you need to rebuild the mbr with a windows install disc, boot up into the command line recovery mode, change directory to c:\ and run the command : bootrec /rebuildbcd

Thanks, this all happened when for whatever reason this 8gb sandisk facet usb drive wouldn't boot my w7 .iso but i knew i had it saved.. wish i didn't give my friend my other usb for the week. Right now I'm trying to install ubuntu w/ unetbootin on parted magic to this crappy usb because I found a MBR fix that is a few command lines but won't work within parted magic. The usb i use to boot parted magic is only 4gb sadly or it would of been the w7 usb
